"Special Brownies"....(I know what you're thinking)

I have the cutest husband ever! The other day we were laying around the house and I walked into the kitchen and found this box of brownies laying on the counter with a note. This is what the note said..

 

"Dear Colleen, I'm tired of sitting in this box. I'm tired of being in a cocoon. I want to become the beautiful butterfly that I'm meant to be (Brownies!). I can't do it without your help. Will you help me? Sincerely, Brownie Mix"

I laughed so hard when I saw this. It would be even funnier to you all if you have ever seen the SNL skit with Amy Pohler and Jon Heder at the science fair. Anyways after I read this note I ran to David and this is the conversation we had.

Colleen: "Oh my gosh David look at what the brownie mix did!"

David:"Oh you better help those brownies!"

Colleen:"Heck no I am selling these brownies on EBay, I could get so much money for these smart brownies!

David: "No! You should help them, they want help!"

And a half hour later....David was eating brownies.

SO moral of the story:

Boys if you want your wife to cook you something, you better be a comedian!

This made my entire week happy! This littlest things in life are most often the best!

Updates.....

I know I haven't been doing very good on our blog, so since I am bored and totally neglecting all the things I should be doing, I thought I would tell ya'll what we've been up to the past few months. We have been up to nothing. Okay blog officially updated...check.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Just kidding. We haven't been up to a lot just work work and work its what we do......kinda. Well we started our fantasy football up again. This time we let papa play. Pretty sure Davey is up one game and papa and I are tied. But I will kill 'em this week and we'll be tied up. Did I mention that Dave told us that we had no chance because he had the top 4 running backs?! Hmmm must be a miracle that we are still keeping up.

Let's see what else.....well we have done some babysitting. This was forever ago, but I love some of the pictures I have of the kids with Red. We got to hangout with Alyssa, Josh, and Brianna for a little bit. We let them run around with Red in the backyard. Red was certainly spoiled that day.

This is my FAVORITE picture! Not only does Josh have his tongue out, as usual, but so does Red. They are so cute together.

Okay what else to update about.....oh yeah David had his 28th birthday on Friday October 9th.

Okay so I am lame and have no updated pictures of David, but I am sure that if I took one of him on his birthday it would look something like that...or maybe this...

Oh how I love my baby! Anyways on Friday we went to a Westwood high school game. I would have enjoyed it much more if my back wasn't killing me. It was still fun though. Then we hit up chick-fil-a...YUM! Saturday we bought him a double blueberry cream pie from Marie Callendars, it's a must for his birthday and I am so glad the pie sale starts in October woo hoo! Then we hit up PF Chang's of course. Do we ever go anywhere different for special occasions? NO! However I did try something new. The shrimp and candied walnuts...crazy dinner! Super good, just a little sweet. It had honeydew in it. Looked weird, but it was SO good! Okay you all have been officially updated...see I told you nothing to exciting.

Move over Air Bud...There's a NEW dog in town!

Aspen Grove

Finally an update! Thanks to David's grandma, we all got to go on a wonderful vacation to Aspen Grove! The weather was perfect! I am so glad we got to get out of the heat for 10 days! We rented a car and hit the road on July 9th. We stopped in St. George, got some Cafe Rio (YUM) and chilled in the hotel room. The next morning we left for Springville to spend some time with my mom. While at my mom's house we played my new favorite game....DOMINION!

This is the best game ever! I am so happy that I can also play it online and ignore all of my responsibilities! Thanks ma!

After all that fun we headed up into the mountains to the beautiful ASPEN GROVE

We spent a whole week here! We got to hang out with a TON of family! I FINALLY got a chance to meet everyone on the Andersen side! We played golf, Wally ball, Frisbee golf, softball, basketball in the pool, which by the way was totally brutal! Those girls tried to drown poor innocent me! ;o) We hiked, or what felt like a hike everyday to our cabins and back. We played spoons (that was REALLY brutal, but yet hilarious to watch!) We did the ropes course, listened to Aaron turn into a Chinese guy while playing Mad Gab, played shuffle board, watched Taryn catch a moth and freak out, ate food like crazy, played horse shoes, watch a squirrel try to take the sacrament, participated in aspen follies and came up with a stupid name and chant, laughed so hard I cried, and boy you name it we did it! And we got to see all the kids run around and have a great time! Whoa, maybe it wasn't a vacation, I think we need another one!

Dakota and Red

This week we have been watching Lisa's dog Dakota. We are having a lot of fun with her since Red is doing most of the dogsitting...:o) Yesterday we let them play in the irrigation water and they loved it! Here is a little video I made. I was really bored. David thinks I'm crazy for making this, but it was actually kind of fun making the video on our new computer. Maybe I will do more?!
